Data Deletion Instructions

You can request deletion of your personal data associated with The Wishing Well at any time. This page explains how to ask us to delete your account and related information, and what to expect from the process.

1. What will be deleted
When you request deletion of your data, we will, subject to legal and security requirements:
- Delete or anonymize your user account in our authentication system.
- Delete or anonymize wells you created and wishes (video and text) you contributed, where technically and legally possible.
- Remove or anonymize associated metadata that can reasonably be linked to you (for example contributor email or display name), while preserving aggregated or de-identified analytics.
We may retain certain information if necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, prevent abuse, or maintain security, but we will limit such retention to what is strictly required.
2. How to request deletion
To request deletion of your data, please follow these steps:
- From the email address linked to your Wishing Well account, send an email to privacy@wellwishes.ai.
- Use the subject line Data Deletion Request.
- In the body of the email, include:
- Your full name (if provided in the app).
- The email address you use to sign in.
- Whether you want to delete:
- Your entire account and all associated wells and wishes, or
- Specific wells or wishes only (include links or IDs where possible).
If you can no longer access the email address used for your account, please explain that in your message and provide enough information for us to reasonably verify your relationship to the account or wells in question.
3. Processing your request
- We will acknowledge your request by email and may ask for additional information to verify your identity or clarify the scope of deletion.
- Once verified, we will begin processing your request and aim to complete it within a reasonable period, typically within 30 days, subject to technical and legal constraints.
- After your data has been deleted or anonymized, we will send a confirmation email to the address used for the request.
4. Third-party accounts and services
If you signed in using Google, Apple, or Facebook, you may also wish to revoke access to The Wishing Well from those providers' account settings:
- Google: visit your Google Account > Security > Third-party access.
- Apple: manage "Sign in with Apple" connections in your Apple ID settings.
- Facebook: manage connected apps in your Facebook settings.
Revoking access on those platforms does not automatically delete data already stored in The Wishing Well. To delete your data from our systems, please also follow the email instructions above.
